How to Update LG L90 D405 to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop With Resurrection Remix Custom ROM
You can perhaps guess that if you wish to get this custom ROM installed on your LG L90, the ROM ZIP file will have to be downloaded before you can do anything else. The Resurrection Remix custom ROM ZIP file can be found at this link. This first step is not yet complete though. There is a second ZIP file that needs to be downloaded, the Google apps or GAPPS ZIP file from this link.
The second step is quite predictable as well. To be able to install the ROM from the ZIP files above, you will of course have to get the files moved to your smartphone. So get the files moved to the L90’s internal memory after connecting it to your computer.
When the ZIP files are transferred, you can unplug the LG L90 from your computer. After removing the USB cable, turn off the device and get it to boot into the recovery mode.
When your LG L90 boots into recovery, we will have to ensure that everything has been wiped in order to flash the Resurrection Remix Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM. Before we wipe the cache, dalvik cache, system, and data partitions, let us perform a factory reset by choosing the ‘wipe data factory reset’ option in recovery. Now you can select ‘advanced options’ to wipe the cache, dalvik cache, system, and data partitions one at a time.
It is quite important to keep in mind that a full wipe needs to be performed every single time when you flash a new custom ROM on your LG 90, or any other Android device that you own. Since you have already done that in the previous step, select the ‘Install zip from SD card’ option and choose the Resurrection Remix custom ROM file from your LG L90’s internal memory. Now you will need to flash this file and get the custom ROM installed.
You can’t reboot your device just yet. The GAPPS ZIP file remains to be flashed via recovery. So don’t forget to flash it before you select the ‘reboot system now’ option in recovery to reboot your LG L90.
If you come across any bugs post the ROM installation process, you can report them in the official Resurrection Remix ROM thread on XDA at this link. But do keep in mind that bugs should always be reported along with a logcat, otherwise it doesn’t help the developer fix it.
Also make sure you check for newer builds of the ROM on a constant basis as newer builds should improve the overall experience even further, along with bug-fixes and other improvements.
At last.... Beware.... When this is installed you don't have the remote controle anymore. Many people asked the developer how to install this, but apparently LG uses a diffrent driver (mod or Ko) than usuall. At least this is what I understand from several Fora.
